My letter to consumerdirect.gov.uk

I used the process on this page here:

http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?action=complain

in order to launch a consumer complaint against ElCell (e_cell on ebay)

---------

Hi there,

My name is Fotios Basagiannis and I have been one of the many victims of

Blackpool based online ebay seller "e_cell", alias for a company or subsidiary

owned and operated my one Murat Celikkol, Blackpool resident.

This company has been attempting (in many cases successfully) to rip off high

value item buyers by either not delivering items paid for or delivering

counterfeit/stolen ones. It took me five months of hard work to get my money

back.

What they do is successfully complete many ebay low-value transactions (e.g.

cables, adaptors, etc.) while trying to scam high value purchasers (e.g. cell

phone buyers) by either not delivering the goods(until disputes have been raised

or legal action taken) or delivering counterfeit, stolen or refurbished items

sold as new.

The result is that although they receive negative feedback in almost all their

high value transactions their overall rating remains relatively high resulting

in more victims being lured in.

In the process of defrauding their victims they use all kinds of lies in order

to deceive, including counterfeit Royal Mail tracking numbers that never give

any info while ElCell falsely claim that the problem is with Royal Mail. They do

all this SYSTEMATICALLY.

Beyond my personal testimony there are more than 60 people who have reported

essentially identical experiences on the forum I started some months ago - I

have the emails of all these individuals, overwhelmingly British.

Please do read the stories on this forum; it is amazing to see how much grief

and suffering the criminal practices of this company/individual have caused in

the UK and beyond. Links below:

Also, please do go on ebay and check the detailed record of feedback for

"e_cell" - this is their seller name on ebay. You will see that basically most

of the high value transactions have received, and are receiving as we speak,

negative feedback for non delivery or counterfeit/problematic items.

Please help us and help all UK (and beyond) consumers stop this horrible abuse.

Thank you for being there,
Fotios
